Dancing BMW Driver Hanging Out Of Sunroof Busted For Second DUI In North Stafford, Sheriff Says

A 26-year-old man having a dance party in a BMW made it easy for deputies from the Stafford County Sheriff's Office to realize he was under the influence on Thursday afternoon, officials say.

Stafford resident Nelson Sanchez Hernandez is facing his second DUI offense in five years after he was spotted dancing through an open sunroof of a BMW SUV on Courthouse Road near Dent Road in North Stafford.

The incident began shortly before 2:15 p.m. on July 18, when the deputy saw Sanchez Hernandez and his passenger dancing in the streets.

During the subsequent traffic stop, deputies say that Sanchez Hernandez had glassy eyes, and smelled of alcohol.

He was arrested for DUI second offense in five years, driving without a license, and reckless driving. His passenger was passed off to a sober driver.

Sanchez Hernandez was being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail as of Friday, July 19.
